In order to group them all into one thread
By the ways, multiple links in the "What's World2ch?" page (I think all of them but I haven't checked) direct to archive.org links, but they don't actually have the website portion of the href, so they just direct to something like world2ch.net/web/20031002194640/http://world2ch.net/entrance/index.html.
The mobile site does not load any HTML outside of the title. You probably shouldn't have that redirect if it's not ready yet.
Note that quotes are not working currently, sorry.
>I have a problem with the current iframe system. It makes bookmarking the boards very difficult. I'm actually writing my own BBS that also used iframes and already had a planned solution to this, though I hadn't actually written it yet.
The frames are very simplistic. Bookmarking world2ch.net/world2ch.html would work wouldn't it? Maybe I don't understand the problem
>If I write you a Javascript file that updates the URL so you can bookmark the boards/thread, would you implement it?
Maybe, I don't know if a lot of javascript would fit the site. We have some other things that need writ(some in javascript) if you're interested.
>The mobile site does not load any HTML outside of the title. You probably shouldn't have that redirect if it's not ready yet.
I certainly don't know anything about configuring things for mobile use. Attempt use on a DS aswell.
>iframes
So, the problem with iframes is that the master webpage that hosts them is the only one that the browser "sees". Let's say I want to bookmark the read all page of this thread for whatever reason(the threads are slow enough that this could reasonably matter.)
Well, I can't. The browser only really sees the /world2ch.html page, and so any attempts to bookmark would ONLY bookmark /world2ch.html, which isn't the read all page. That's just the webpage hosting the iframes, and will load the homepage.
There is a workaround that doesn't require JS at the moment. The problem with that workaround is that the navigation won't load because it's not a part of the original webpage that you bookmarked. It's also just not convenient to hit "open link in new tab" every time I want to bookmark something.
I actually made something today that solves both of these problems, but I'm not happy with it in its current state and already have a better one in mind that I'm starting to work on.
>I don't know if a lot of JS would fit the site
Well, let me finish my new iteration that shouldn't be 6 kilobytes in size, and then you can review it to see if you want to put it on the site or not. If you're interested in the older but already functional script, I can send it, but I would not use it on the site personally.

Alright, I'll consider it.
>I am interested in helping out, but it's probably not wise to just blindly trust a random guy offering a JS file that's meant to fix a pet peeve :P
I probably have used your site before. I was going to start an irc channel for bans and to look for a dev anyways, so we can discuss the js on #world2ch at rizon if you'd like.
>I request clarification, what do you mean by "attempt use on a DS as well?"
Saying you should try it on the nintendo DS. There is no reason to actually do this.
I have finished writing the script for you. You can look at it in this zip file. The only difference between Updater.js and Updater - Stripped.js is that one is stripped of comments, so that you can see how small the script is without all of my documentation.

Oh, also you probably have not used my site before. I haven't actually written my image board and haven't published any sites under my MachDiamond name yet.

In 2 clicks, I managed to open the thread in a separate window that lets me bookmark it
And you're also confusing iframe with frames (frameset)

Because modern Chrome doesn't even keep frames(or framesets for that matter) in the DOM, I just use "frame" as shorthand for "iframe" these days.
Also,
>There is a workaround that doesn't require JS at the moment. The problem with that workaround is that the navigation won't load because it's not a part of the original webpage that you bookmarked. It's also just not convenient to hit "open link in new tab" every time I want to bookmark something.
I was aware of the two-clicks to open a new tab workaround, and I expressed how I was discontent with that workaround.
I'd like to revise my statement about modern Chrome purging framesets, I've evidently been using frameset wrong for a while now.
None the less, thankfully my script still works even with my stupidity with Chrome.
Links that lead off of world2ch.net should probably be opened as a target="_blank" or target="_top".
Should the historical AA&Flash textboard be reinstated? The current lounge is most AA and not much discussion. What do the users think?
I don't think this is the right way to go
AAs must eventually be used as an equivalent to images on imageboards. For me, this is the best way to use AA.
So I think if other boards need to be added, it would be for specific subjects
