I got a 4.0 GPA and the best references. I couldn't afford college though and when I did start applying I always applied late. I would be so weighed down by nihilism and depression I couldn't muster up the courage to actually apply. Now I'm a nobody. So I'd say I don't have the smarts. I'm pretty much retarded.
